10月30日（日）、あつぎマラソンに参加しました。
私にとって初めてのマラソン大会参加。一般の部は10キロとハーフに分かれていて、私は10キロにエントリーしました。
会場の荻野運動公園に到着したときにはすでに人がいっぱい。
約3000人参加の大きな大会で、ちょっと雰囲気に飲み込まれてしまいました。
この日のために、9月から週3日ほど朝のジョギングを続けてきました。
目標は60分以内での完走、あわよくば55分切りたいな・・・くらいに設定しました。日ごろのペースでじゅうぶん到達可能な緩めの目標設定です。あまり目標を高くしてしまうと、楽しさより辛さが前に出てしまうし、無理をして怪我したら元も子もありません。いつもと同じように走ろうと心がけました。
それでも、シャツにゼッケンをつけ、スタートが近づくにつれ、だんだんと緊張してきました。
周りの人がみんな走り慣れているように見え、ペースについていけなかったらどうしようとか、足がけいれんして途中棄権してしまうんじゃないかとか思い始め、ドキドキしてきました。
でもこの緊張感がたまらなくいいんですよね。ラグビーをやっていた時を思い出して、すごく懐かしくなりました。今では日頃味わえない感覚。昔に戻るというか、若返ったような気持ちになります。
小林市長の号砲でスタート。
私は後ろの方に並んでいましたが、人数が多くてしばらく動けず。
トラック内は非常にゆっくりしたペースでした。
天候は予報よりもよく、絶好のマラソン日和。
コースは、荻野運動公園をスタート、ゴールにして、飯山の自然の中を走りました。
この付近は往診で何百回と車で走っていますが、自分の足で走りながら眺める景色も新鮮でした。景色を楽しみながら走ると、疲れもあまり感じません。
途中、前を走る女性ランナーとペースが大体同じだったので、その人をペースメーカーに見立て、抜きつ抜かれつしながら走っていました。
後半は、向かい風のなか国道412号を北上、アップダウンがこたえましたがなんとか乗り越え・・・
無事にゴール！
タイムは52分32秒。55分切りも達成できて大満足でした。
ペースメーカーと（勝手に）競って走っていたのがよかったのかもしれません。最後はトラックで競り負けてしまいましたが。ゴール後その人が振り向いたら、なんとその人は長髪で細身の男性で、思わず一人でズッコケてしまいました。
初マラソン、疲れはしましたが、最後まで楽しむ余裕を持って走ることができました。ラストスパートすればタイム的にはもう少し縮まったのかもしれませんが、今年はこのタイムでじゅうぶんです。
来年も楽しむ余裕を持って、今度は50分を切りたいですね。
